The tailgate will lock or unlock when
you lock or unlock the driver’s door
by using the key, the lock tab on the
driver’s door, the master door lock
switch, or the remote transmitter.
To open the tailgate, press and hold
the switch, then lift up.
To close the tailgate, hold the
tailgate handle, lower the tailgate,
then press down on the back edge.
Keep the tailgate closed at all times
while driving to avoid damaging the
tailgate and to prevent exhaust gas
from getting into the interior. See
