Kofax Transformation Modules Installation Guide
License activation is a process that establishes a link between the Project Builder and
the Kofax Capture hardware key, which must be present at the time of activation. Li-
cense activation requires administrator rights on the computer where it is performed.
When activating the license, you must provide a user name and company name.
For more information see User Guide for Kofax Transformation Modules- Project
Builder - License Activation.
Step 4 - Port Configuration For Extraction Services
This step applies to any computer where the extraction services are used and the de-
fault port numbers are already blocked by other programs or services.
The ports for the extraction services can be configured. The installation inserts an
entry for each service “Port1”, “Port2”, “Port3”,“Port4” for the following registry
key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\LCI\Mailroom\3.1\Server
You can set the value for the ports manually by editing the corresponding registry
key. Empty registry keys are inserted by the installation program, by default
• port 9211 is used for Kofax Transformation Modules - Extraction Service 1
• port 9212 is used for Kofax Transformation Modules - Extraction Service 2
• port 9213 is used for Kofax Transformation Modules - Extraction Service 3
• port 9214 is used for Kofax Transformation Modules - Extraction Service 4
Silent Installation
The installation of Kofax Transformation Modules supports the “Silent Install” func-
tionality of the Windows Installer. During such an install, all user interactions are
suppressed. In case of a server installation the Kofax Transformation - Service Con-
figuration has to be started afterwards to configure the Kofax Transformation Mod-
ules - Server and Knowledge Base Learning Server services.
Silent installation can be used to automate the installation of Kofax Transformation
Modules - Server and Kofax Transformation Modules - Validation. First you have to
record the installation and then run that recording on the target system.
