1. To unload, make sure the muzzle is pointed in a
safe direction. Then, remove magazine as in
Step 1 of previous section (Figure 4).
2. If all of the rounds from the magazine have
been fired, slide will automatically lock in the
open position.
Always visually check to see
that the chamber is clear (Figure 7).
If magazine is not removed prior to this
procedure, any rounds left in it will be chambered.
This could lead to an unintentional discharge. THIS
FIREARM WILL FIRE WITH A ROUND
CHAMBERED AND THE MAGAZINE REMOVED.
3. Point the firearm in a safe direction. To
release the slide forward onto the empty
chamber, grasp the cocking serrations with
your off hand. Pull the slide rearward to
release the tension on the slide stop, then
ease the slide closed.
