LOADED CHAMBER INDICATOR PORT
LOADED CHAMBER INDICATOR PORT : A small opening on
the top of the barrel hood provides a visual
indication* as to whether or not a round is in the
chamber. When a round is in the chamber, the rim
of the shell casing should be visible.
Note the placement of the arrow in the above photo
(Figure 3).
This loaded chamber indicator is another example
of Kimber's commitment to safety. However,
ALWAYS abide by the NRA RULES FOR SAFE
GUN HANDLING as found at the back of this
Manual. NEVER rely exclusively on mechanical
or visual safeties! You can never be sure that a
gun is completely unloaded until both the
chamber is visually inspected and the magazine
is removed.
* Visual indication of the rim of the shell casing is
dependent upon lighting conditions.
NEVER ASSUME THE FIREARM IS UNLOADED!
