15. Position the cylinder head on the engine block.
16. Install the 5 head bolts, and tighten them to a torque
of 221 - 239 in lb. (25 - 27 Nm) in 89 in lb (10 Nm)
steps. See Figure 9.6.
17. Insert the push rods.
18. Install the rocker arms. Adjust the valve lash by fol-
lowing the steps described in Chapter 1: Introduction.
19. Install a new intake manifold gasket.
20. Install the intake manifold screws and tighten the
support stud nut.
21. Install the muffler by following the steps described in
Chapter 8: Exhaust.
22. Test run the engine in a safe area before returning it
to service. Check all safety features.
