2.1.3 Sample-Intake-
The!sample!intake!is!on!the!front!of!the!NucleoCounter!SCC0400!instrument.!This!sample!
intake!is!a!movable!pipette.!!
2.1.4 The-RUN-Key-and-LED-indicator-
On!the!front!of!the!NucleoCounter!SCC0400!there!is!a!RUN!button.!Activating!this!will!
perform!an!analysis!of!the!sample!presented!at!the!sample!intake!or!it!can!be!used!to!rinse!
or!clean!the!flow!system!of!the!instrument.!!
On!the!rear!of!the!instrument!an!USB!data!connection!(rev!2.0!or!higher),!a!DC!Power!
Connection!and!a!DC!fuse!holder!are!located.!Please!take!care!of!these!areas!and!keep!
them!free!of!liquids!and!foreign!objects!at!all!times.!
2.1.5 Internal-Flow-System-
The!internal!flow!system!of!the!NucleoCounter!SCC0400!consists!of!tubing,!sample!
compartment,!valve!and!a!pump.!A!schematic!drawing!of!the!flow!system!is!given!in!the!
following!illustration.!!

The!sample!is!drawn!in!through!the!sample!intake,!through!the!sample!compartment!and!
to!the!waste!container!(not!shown).!The!valve!has!the!function!of!keeping!the!liquid!in!the!
sample!compartment!at!standstill!during!analysis.!
2.2 Sample,Intake,
The!sample!intake!of!the!NucleoCounter!SCC0400!is!where!the!sample!mixture!is!
introduced!to!the!internal!flow!system!of!the!instrument.!The!sample!intake!is!a!small!
pipette!intended!to!fit!in!a!small!container!such!as!1.5!mL!Eppendorf!tube.!
2.2.1 Introducing-Samples-
It!is!recommended!to!present!about!0.75mL!of!sample/reagent!mixture!to!the!sample!
intake.!For!the!preparation!of!the!sample/reagent!mixture!please!refer!to!the!
NucleoCounter!SCC0400!Application!Note!(ChemoMetec!P/N!99400021).!The!sample!pipette!
should!be!immersed!fully!into!the!container!before!initiating!analysis.!!
