^ : Forced ON
The flash is forced to fire.
You will use it when a subject is
backlighted.
The flash fires automatically according
to the recording situation and
simultaneously it reduces the red-eye
phenomenon (when a subject’s eyes
appear red in flash light).
Use it when a subject is recorded in dark
places.
: Slow synchro
When you take a picture with a dark
background landscape, it makes the
flash fire and the shutter speed be slow,
so that the dark background landscape
will become bright.
® : Forced OFF
Even being in dark places, the flash
does not light.
Set it when you take pictures in places
where flash is forbidden.
