USER ACCOUNTS AND GROUPS
Predefined User Accounts
CanogaView EMS has two predefined user accounts: admin and guest.
User Account “admin” - Password “admin”
The predefined username and password for the “admin” user account are one in the same, admin.
The “admin” account is assigned to the following group(s):
• Administrator
• CV-Administrator
• Observer
• Operator
User Account “guest” - Password “guest”
The predefined username and password for the “guest” user account are one in the same, guest.
The “guest” account is assigned to the following group(s):
• Observer
To define a user account:
1. In the CanogaView menu under Security, select Users to open the User Accounts Browser.
2. Click Add to open the CANOGAVIEW-USERS-ADD/EDIT screen.
3. Enter the appropriate information. For security reasons when you enter the password, you will see
only asterisks. Also, you need to confirm the password by entering it twice. Should the password
not match, a warning displays. Once you save the account, the next time you open it the password
fields will be blank. Nonetheless, if you enter a new password, asterisks will appear.
4. When finished click Save to Database.

It is strongly advised and encouraged that account
passwords be changed to one that only the user knows in
order to prevent outside intrusion.
• Each user account must have an assigned username and password
• To work, the account must also be enabled. however, you may
define an account and save it to the database, leaving it enabled
until you want the account to go into service.
• To change the password on an account, including the predefined
default accounts, you would use the Users option under Security
in the CanogaView menu. The username cannot be changed
once the account is initially saved, only the password.
