Install the batteries
(p. 20).
Slide the battery cover lock,
then open the cover and
insert the batteries.

Install the CF card (p. 24).
Open the CF card slot cover
and insert a CF card.
• Push the CF card all the way
into the slot, so that the CF
card eject button pops all the
way out.

Open the LCD monitor (p. 34) and press
the ON/OFF button to turn the camera on
(p. 31).
Hold the ON/OFF button down until the power
indicator next to the ON/OFF button lights green.
• If the LCD monitor displays
the Date/Time menu, set the
date and time (p. 26).
