4. MAINTAIN CONTROL

G. CUTTING METHODS
1. Establish a rhythmic cutting procedure.
a. Plantfeet firmly, comfortably apart.
b. Cut while swingingthe upper part of your body
from right to left.
c. Move forward to the next area to be cut after
the return swing and plant feet once more.
2. Use the 8 o’clock to 10 o’clock position for
cutting.
3. Stop the engine and blade, then uncUp the
shoulder strap from the tool before clearing
cut material.
4. To reduce the chance of material wrapping
around thé blade, follow these steps:
a. Cut at fuU throttle.
b. Swing the tool into material to be cut from
your right to left.
c. Avoid the material just cut as you make the re­
turn swing.
