Shooting in Manual Focus Mode
The focus can be manually set.

Press the
button to turn on the LCD
monitor.

Press the MF button until MF appears.
• The MF indicator appears.
• The MF indicator shows approximate figures. Use them
as a shooting guideline only.

Use the left or right button to focus.
• Adjust the focus using the left or right button until the
image appears focused on the LCD monitor.
• Pressing the MF button a second time cancels the
manual focus mode.

Shoot the image.

• In manual focus, the AF frame locks on the center frame.
• You can use manual focus in the macro focal distance 5
to 46 cm (2.0 in. to 1.5 ft.) at wide angle end and 26 to
46 cm (10 in. to 1.5 ft.) at telephoto end. In this case, the
fine scale is adopted.
• You can change the MF indicator displayed distance
units (p. 180).
