ENGINE
Maintenance, repair, or replacement of the
emission control devices and systems,
which are being done at the customers
expense, may be performed by any non
road engine repair establishment or indi
vidual. Warranty repairs must be per
formed by an authorized engine manufac
turer's service outlet.
TO ADJUST THROTTLE CONTROL
CABLE®
Loosen cable damp screw to allow
cable to move.
® Move throttle control lever on upper han
dle to “FAST” position.
0 Pull throttle cable out to end of travel
® Hold cable in this position and tighten
clamp screw securely.
IDLE RPM ADJUSTMENT
a To adjust idle RPM, rotate throttle link
age counterclockwise and hold against
stop while adjusting idle speed adjusting
screw to obtain 1750 RPM. Release
throttle linkage.
-ACCELERATION TEST

® Move throttle control lever from “SLOW
to “FAST position.
If
engine hesitates
or dies, turn needle valve out (counter*
clockwise) 1/8 turn. Repeat test and
continue to adjust, if necessary, until
engine accelerates smoothly.
High speed stop is factory adjusted. Do
not adjust or damage may result.
IMPORTANT: Never tamper with the en
gine governor, which is factory set for
proper engine speed, overspeeding the
engine above the factory high speed set*
tina can be dangerous. If you think the
engine-governed high speed needs adjust
ing, contact your nearest authorized ser
vice center/department, which has the
proper eguipment and experience to make
any necessary adjustments.
TO ADJUST CARBURETOR
The carburetor has a high speed jet and
has been preset at the factory and adjust
ment should not be necessary. However,
minor adjustments may be required to
compensate for differences in fuel, temper
ature, altitude or load, if the carburetor
does need adjustment, proceed as follows.
