Understanding the Multi-Channel Surround Displays
[U OPTICAL
Lights up when the source signal is a digital signal
being input through the OPTICAL terminal.
El COAXIAL
Lights up when the source signal is a digital signal
being input through the .COAXIAL terminal.
E CD DIGITAL
This indicator lights when the sound field is on and
the unit is decoding signals recorded in the Dolby
Digital (AC-3) format.
[4] Playback channel indicators
The letters light to indicate the channels being played
back.
L: Front Left
R: Front Right
C: Center (monaural) LS: Left Surround
RS; Right Surround
S: Surround (monaural or the rear components
obtained by Pro Logic processing)
The boxes around the letters light to indicate the
speakers used to playback the charmels.

E L.F.E

The letters "L.F.E" light up when the disc being played
contains the LFE (Low Frequency Effect) channel.
When the soimd of the LFE charmel signal is actually
being reproduced, the bars underneath the letters
lights up to indicate the level. Since the LFE signal is
. not recorded in all parts of the input signal the bar
indication will fluctuate (and may turn off) during
playback.
E S. WOOFER
Lights when sub woofer selection is set to "YES" and
this unit detects that the disc being played does not
contain the LFE charmel signal. While this indicator is
lit, this unit creates a sub woofer signal based on the
low frequency components of the front charmels.

] Tuner indicators
These indicators light when using the receiver to tune
in radio stations, etc. See pages 40-43 for tuner
operations.

D. RANGE
Lights when dynamic range compression is active. See
page 35 and 36 to adjust the dynamic range
compression.
E PRO LOGIC
Lights when this unit applies Pro Logic processing to
two charmel signals in order to output the center and
surround charmel signals.
Sg DTS (STR-DE925 only)
Lights up when DTS signals are input.
Notes
• When playing a DTS format disc, be sure that you have
made digital connectior« and that INPUT MODE is NOT
set to ANALOG (see on page 25).
• You may hear some noise when starting playback from a
DTS format LD or CD. This, however, is not a malfunction.
