We recommend that this performance part be installed by a qualified
motorcycle technician. If you have any doubts as to your ability to install this
performance part, please consult with your local motorcycle dealer. Read all
instructions first before starting installation. Make sure the motorcycle and
exhaust system are completely cool before starting the installation. Also,
make sure the bike is secure on a centerstand or ideally a service lift during
installation. Be sure to save all stock components for possible use later.
Installation Instructions
1. Make sure the bike is completely cool before starting the
installation. Make sure the bike is secure on a centerstand
or ideally a service lift.
2. Remove the stock muffler assembly by loosening the
muffler clamp and the 2 mounting bolts (1 bolt at muffler
top and 1 bolt on stock lower S-Bend).
3. Attach V.A.L.E. Assembly.
Use the 4(four) 6x14mm socket head cap screws and
split lock washers to loosely attach the muffler canister
to the V.A.L.E. tube assembly.
4. Slide the muffler assembly into the stock muffler gasket
and clamp. Do not tighten this clamp until final step.
5. Slip the supplied rubber lined muffler clamp onto the
muffler canister and loosely attach to the upper mount
behind the rear passenger peg using the stock hardware.
6. With the new exhaust assembly in place, securely tighten
the 4 V.A.L.E. socket head cap screws, securing the X-Lite
retaining ring and exhaust tube to the muffler canister,
keeping sure that the muffler is in correct alignment with
the bike.
7. Securely tighten the muffler canister clamp.
8. Securely tighten the muffler joint clamp to the stock collector.
9. Install OEM rubber bumper to center stand bracket by
twisting and pushing.
