If you select Enabled, the Ctrl+S prompt appears after POST so that you
can press Ctrl+S within the number of seconds allowed by the Setup Menu
Wait Time setting to display the configuration setup menu.
If you select Disabled and/or the Setup Menu Wait Time setting is zero, the
Ctrl+S setup prompt will not appear during the boot process. However, you
can display the configuration setup menu by repeatedly pressing Ctrl+S
immediately after POST until the menu appears. If the configuration setup
menu does not appear after repeated pressings of Ctrl+S, you were likely
not fast enough. In this case, reboot and try again.

Boot Agent operates. If you select a Setup Menu Wait Time setting of zero

will not appear during the boot process. However, you can still display the
configuration setup menu by repeatedly pressing Ctrl+S immediately after

In this case, reboot and try again.

If set to 1, the Intel Boot Agent will enable PME in the adapter's PCI
configuration space during initialization. This allows remote wakeup under
legacy operating systems that do not normally support it. Note that
enabling this makes the adapter technically noncompliant with the ACPI
specification, which is why the default is disabled.

In a scenario where both PXE client and server are booting at the same
time (such as after a data center power failure), it is not uncommon for the
client, while attempting to connect to the server, to timeout as the server
is still booting. Intel® Boot Agent supports a continuous retry option that
will continually attempt to connect to the server until the server becomes
available. This option is set using BootUtil.
BootUtil -setretry
= Enabled.
BootUtil -clearretry
= Disabled.
NOTE: If this option is enabled, the system boot process will never
progress past the Intel® Boot Agent. The device boot order is set in
the BIOS, which controls the order in which the system will interrogate
devices in an attempt to find a boot loader. With this option set, once
the system reaches the Intel® Boot Agent in the boot order, the boot
agent will retry indefinitely, unless it finds a network boot device or is
manually interrupted.
NOTE: If, during PXE boot, more than one adapter is installed in a computer and you want to boot from the boot ROM
located on a specific adapter, you can do so by removing the adapter from the BIOS Boot Order.
While configuration setup menu is displayed, diagnostics information is also displayed in the lower half of the screen. This
information can be helpful during interaction with customer support personnel or your IT team members. For more
information about how to interpret the information displayed, refer to
