Thank you for your purchase of the E-flite ® Albatros
D.Va 25e ARF. This outstanding scale replica of
Germany’s famous WWI fighter has a unique blend
of scale detail and 21st-century engineering to yield
a stunningly accurate yet easy to assemble, gentle-
flying WWI warbird experience that is sure to leave a
smile on your face.
Prior to arriving at the field, you should ensure that
all fasteners are in place and secure, the CG has
been set, and control throws are verified per this
manual. It’s also a good idea to perform a range test
before getting to the field to minimize your workload
after arriving. After you get to the field, install your
flight battery and have a friend check over your
airplane for you; both to make sure that every part of
the airplane is airworthy, and to make them jealous of
your new toy.
Carry the airplane to the runway and place it on the
runway centerline. You’ll find that the tailskid does
not provide for the same low-power taxiing authority
that you may be used to with tail wheel-equipped
airplanes. After some practice, you will find that
you are able to control the airplane well in a taxi
using short, aggressive bursts of power to keep the
airplane tracking straight. Once aligned with the
runway, set the throttle trim such that the propeller
is spinning at a very low rpm; this will be your flight
idle. Smoothly increase the throttle and use small
rudder corrections to keep the airplane tracking
straight down the runway. You’ll find that it will lift off
very quickly due to the low wing loading and you will
probably not need to use full power to lift off. Climb
to a comfortable altitude and trim the airplane to fly
hands off at a comfortable cruising speed, which will
be around half throttle or a little more depending on
whether flying wires have been installed.
After getting the feel for the airplane in level flight,
gain a little extra altitude and try some maneuvers to
get a feel for how the airplane responds. The Albatros
is a very honest airplane that has moderate aerobatic
capability. It is by no means an unlimited aerobat, but
typical barnstorming maneuvers such as chandelles,
loops, barrel rolls, wingovers and the like are well
within this airplane’s repertoire. You can also bring
the airplane down low to patrol for enemy aircraft and
enjoy the appearance of this magnificent airplane as it
floats gracefully by.
When the time comes to bring her home, landing the
Albatros is a breeze. Enter the traffic pattern and
reduce your airspeed. Allow the airplane to descend
through a 180 degree turn from downwind to final
and align the airplane with the runway centerline, into
the wind. Once you are over the runway threshold,
reduce power and settle in for a greaser. Both wheel
landings and full-stall landings are easy and fun to
do, and the airplane looks great doing them. You’ll
find that the functioning, shock-absorbing landing
gear does a magnificent job of smoothing out all the
runway bumps as you come to a stop.

Nach der Ankunft auf dem Flugplatz sollten Sie
überprüfen dass alle Befestigungen am Platz und
gesichert sind, der Schwerpunkt eingestellt ist
und die Ruderausschläge denen in der Anleitung
entsprechen. Sie sollten vorher auch schon einen
Reichweitentest durchgeführt haben, dann geht
es etwas entspannter an die Vorbereitungen zum
Erstflug.
Setzen Sie den Akku ein und bitten einen Freund mit
Ihnen die Lufttüchtigkeit des Modells zu überprüfen
und auch gleich damit einen neuen Bewunderer für Ihr
neues Spielzeug zu haben.
Tragen Sie das Flugzeug auf die Startbahn und
setzen es auf die Mitte. Sie werden möglicherweise
feststellen, dass der Hecksporn bei wenig Gas nicht
nicht so folgsam ist wie ein Spornrad. Hier helfen mit
etwas Übung kurze kräftige Gasstöße um das Modell
auf Kurs zu halten. Ist das Modell auf der Mittellinie
ausgerichtet, stellen Sie die Trimmung bitte so ein
dass der Propeller mit geringer Drehzahl dreht, dass
ist der Motorlerrlauf.
Erhöhen Sie sanft das Gas und halten die
Startrichtung mit dem Seitenruder. Dank der geringen
Flächenbelastung hebt die Albatros schon nach kurzer
Startstrecke ab und benötigt dabei nicht unbedingt
Vollgas.
Steigen Sie bis auf eine Sicherheitshöhe und
trimmen bis das Flugzeug ohne Steuereingabe
mit Halbgas oder etwas mehr Gas bis es gerade
fliegt. Die Gasstellung ist davon abhängig ob Sie die
Verspannungen montiert haben oder nicht.
Nachdem Sie ein Gefühl für das Flugzeug im Reiseflug
bekommen haben, steigen Sie etwas höher und
fliegen ein paar weitere Manöver um die Reaktionen
des Flugzeuges zu testen. Die Albatros ist ein sehr
ehrliches Flugzeug und nur moderat Kunstflugtauglich.
Typische Barnstormermanöver wie Wingovers,
Chandelles, Loopings und Faßrollen gehören zu dem
Repertoire der Albatros.
Viel Freude macht es auch das eindrucksvolle Flugbild
mit einem tiefen Überflug zu genießen.
Wird es Zeit für die Landung werden die feststellen,
dass diese ein wahrer Genuss sind. Drehen Sie in den
Gegenanflug und reduzieren Sie die Geschwindigkeit.
Lassen Sie das Flugzeug weiter sinken und drehen mit
einem 180 ° Turn in den Endanflug gegen den Wind
ein. Richten Sie das Flugzeug auf die Mittellinie aus.
Über der Landebahnschwelle reduzieren Sie das Gas
weiter und setzen auf. 2 oder 3-Punkt Landungen sind
einfach zu fliegen und dank des gefederten Fahrwerks
das viele Unebenheiten glättet eine echte Freude.
