2- Installation of the manifold is made easiest by angling the rear port leg down as shown in Picture 2. Snug, but do not final tighten the manifold

flange bolts at this point.

3- Make sure there is a rubber grommet and standoff in each of the manifold mounting holes. Now install the 5/16-inch mounting screws with

some blue threadlock but do not tighten them yet. Tighten the manifold flange bolts to the cylinder heads, alternating top to bottom until
both flanges are tightened to 18-20 ft-lbs. Now tighten the front manifold-to-head mounting screws. These should be torqued to 10 to 12 ft-
lbs. NOTE: The front mounting screws generally bottom out the standoff to the head on 126ci application and normally do not require the use
of shims. The standoff should bottom out on the supplied shims to the head on 124ci and 145ci applications for the rubber grommets to be
effective, as shown in Figure 1. With variations in castings, the number of shims needed may vary.

4- Install the MAP sensor and connect the vacuum line to the rear manifold fitting. Use a rubber cap to close off the front fitting. In some

applications, you may have to attach a breather hose in place of the cap as shown in Picture 5.
