About the Static Support Assembly
Operation
About the Static Support Assembly
Instead of using hydraulic pressure to offset the weight of the specimen, a static
support assembly can support a heavy structure or component on the actuator
piston rod.
Note
The static support assembly is offered for all models. If you require static
support, contact MTS Systems Corporation for static support information.
Excessive pressure
protection
The static support is protected from excessive pressure by the burst plug located
on top of the static support base between the nitrogen pressure vessel and the
pedestal tube. It contains a rupture disk which is designed to yield between 15.9
and 17.3 MPa (2300 and 2500 psi) and allow nitrogen pressure relief.
