MAINTENANCE
SHAFT REASSEMBLY
Reassembly of the shaft with the new diamond wheels is the reverse of the disassembly instructions.
Please keep the following points in mind when reassembling:
1. Use a good quality wheel bearing grease to coat the steel shaft with a liberal amount of grease
before mounting the wheels, flanges and spacers.
2. Be sure the diamond wheel bushings are installed.
3. Some brazed wheels have 2 flush faces, and some have 1 flush and 1 recessed face (Fig 25 &
26). A second spacer (.250 long) is needed behind the flange of any recessed face to insure proper
wheel spacing (Fig 28). See parts explodes for illustration of proper wheel, flange and spacer
setup.
4. There should be a flange installed on both sides of each diamond wheel. Make sure the concave
side of the flange faces the wheels (Fig 27 & 28).
5. Install the Nova resin diamond wheels on the shaft with arrow of rotation facing direction of rotation.
