GSA mirroring
When changing the IP addresses of GSAs, it's best to disable mirroring prior to
relocation, then reconfigure the GSA^n setup once the move has been completed, the network has
been properly provisioned and service has been resumed on the primary GSA.
●
Network configuration changes
For versions older than GSA v7.0, new network settings should be
configured prior to moving the appliances, by utilizing the Administration > Networks Settings page
to setup the configuration for the new network whilst the GSA is still on the old network, and then
modifying the IP address via the Installation Wizard on the address http://192.168.255.1:1111/ from
a laptop connected directly to the appliance. For more information, see
has been physically moved, via the Installation Wizard as described above.
●
Shutting down and powering up the GSA
The GSA should be shutdown from the admin console
prior to moving, via Administration > Shutdown. Poweringup the GSA is achieved via the powerup
button on the front of the appliance.
●
GSA Bezel key
Make sure the GSA bezel key from Google is available during the move. If a GSA
bezel key has been misplaced, Google Support should be contacted for a replacement.
●
Physical access and Google Support access to the GSA
For all moves, physical access to the
GSA should be made available for the GSA administrator to configure the installation wizard from a
laptop physically connected to the GSA on the new LAN. Furthermore, it is best practice that where
possible, SSH access be enabled to the GSA prior to moving the GSA, so that remote access may
be made possible if needed.
