The tip of the igniter is exposed to a harsh environment
consisting of high temperatures and combustion products.
Periodic servicing is required.
A. REMOVAL
a. Disconnect the ignitor cable’s boot
b. Remove the following:
-- Ignitor mounting screws
-- Pressure switch tube from copper burner tube.
-- Burner mounting nuts.
-- Ground wires from burner stud.

c. Slide the burner off its mounting studs, and pivoting
as necessary, pull the burner from the burner tube.
Remove ignitor after burner is removed. The ignitor
cannot be removed without removal of the burner.

B. MAINTENANCE
a. Remove igniter from burner box. Ensure the gap is 1/8
in. See Fig. 20.
b. Clean the electrode and ground rod using emery cloth.

INSTALLATION
a. Position the replacement ignitor’s tip through the
larger opening in the burner vane (see Fig. 21) while
sliding the burner into the burner tube and back
onto its mounting studs.

Mount the ignitor bracket to the burner box.
c.
Position the ground wires and copper burner tube
onto the appropriate burner studs. See Fig.1.
d. Secure the burner to its mounting studs.
e. Securely connect the ignition cable boot onto the
ignitor and the pressure switch tube onto the
copper burner tube.
