SID SCRN Your phone may be able to select
ON a preferred SID area. If no service is
available on this type of area, the
NO part of the NO SVC indicator will
flash and only emergency calls to the
emergency number programmed into
your phone may be possible.
SID SCRN SID screening is disabled and your
OFF phone selects the network as set in
the menu function SYSTEM SELECT.
(See System Select on page 28.)
To set SID screening on or off:

Press and scroll to the menu function
SID SCREEN by using and press .

Note: If you try to access this menu function
and no SID information has been programmed
into your phone, the message
NOT ALLOWED
is briefly displayed and the phone exits the
menu facility.

Scroll through the options (SID SCRN ON,
SID SCRN OFF) by using and confirm
your choice by pressing
.
The phone prompts for your four-digit lock code
(
LOCKCODE? ).

Enter your lock code and press .
The message STORED is briefly displayed con-
firming the selection.

If you entered an incorrect lock code the mes-
sage
CODE ERROR is briefly displayed and the
phone exits the menu facility.
Note: When the phone is set to SID SCRN ON
and when operating within a non-preferred SID
area, only calls to the emergency number pro-
grammed into your phone (e.g., 911 or another of-
ficial emergency number) may be possible.
