Trap transmitting to a Compaq Insight Manager function

If a fault occurs in server, it is possible to transmit a SNMP trap to a Compaq Insight

Manager. A SNMP trap is transmitted when the fault about temperature, FAN and Voltage

in server. In order to confirm this function, it is necessary to specify by the Local

Configuration Tool.

Auto-shutdown function (ASD function)

This function enables automatic execution of the sequence from shutting down the

Operating System through to turning OFF the power by operating the power/sleep button

of the server.

The supported machine model for an Agent: MAGNIA Z300/Z310/Z500

Collect Logs function

It is the function to collect the files (log files and files of information data) for knowing a

state, the contents of an alert, and so on of the Agent machine. When the specified file

exists, those files can be transmitted to a Management Console from the Agent machine.

Enterprise Associated function

When some faults occur in the server, faults can be informed to each of the managers of

Compaq Insight Manager (XE), OpenView and Tivoli.

Remote Console function

It is the function to operate the Agent machine from a Management Console. Mainly,

when a keyboard, a mouse and a monitor are not connected to the Agent machine, this

function uses.

HDD Connector Board Log function

It is the function to maintain the log recorded in a HDD Connector Board.

A HDD Connector Board is a board for connecting an IDE HDD. This function is

unnecessary, when an IDE HDD is not connected to the server, or when the server is

equipped with an IO device chassis.
