INSTALLATION PROCEDURES
This product must be installed in accordance with the applicable installation code by a person familiar with the construction and operation of
the product and the hazards involved. Housing can NOT be installed in direct contact with insulation. Do not install insulation within 3" of fixture
sides or wiring compartment, nor above fixture in such a manner to entrap heat.
HOUSING INSTALLATION:
• Locate the center of the proposed opening on your ceiling. Ceiling opening should be 9-1/8" x 9-1/8" square. Cut the ceiling with a keyhole
saw or equivalent along marked line.
• Pull down the light engine (reflector, heatsink and LED assembly) from the housing. Detach springs from the housing. Install optional
C-Channel bars (HBC-24). Bend the top and bottom tabs of the mounting support brackets to hold C-Channels in place.
• Position fixture in ceiling. Secure mounting channels to T-Bar. NOTE: For drywall, fixture must be mounted to ceiling structure prior to dry
walling.
ELECTRICAL CONNECTION:
• Local electrical codes should be consulted to determine acceptable installation: conduit, flexible non-metallic cable (Romex) or flexible
metallic cable (BX). Minimum 75°C supply conductors must be used.
• Insert incoming wires carefully into junction box using one of the available knock-outs. The junction box cover with attached LED
driver and thermal protector has three wires: black (hot), white (neutral) and green (ground), as well as two dimming wires, gray and
purple used for 0-10V dimming. This fixture can also be dimmed using Triac (leading edge) and ELV (trailing edge) dimmers. Some
models may have an additional capped off wire coming from the thermal protector. DO NOT USE THIS WIRE. Connect the incoming black
feed wire to the black wire, the incoming white feed wire to the J-Box white wire, and the incoming ground (may be green or bare) to the
green J-Box wire. NOTE: The LED driver does not have a ground wire and is mechanically grounded to the fixture through mounting studs.
• Replace the J-Box cover.
• Connect light engine assembly cable to the wire coming out of the junction box.
DRIVER REPLACEMENT:
If the LED driver is not working properly, replace with the same LED driver model. LED driver replacement should be done by a qualified
electrician. Turn off power at fuse or circuit breaker box before replacing the ballast.
• Remove the light engine from the housing.
• Remove J-Box cover to gain access to opposite J-Box cover to which the LED driver is attached.
• Pull off J-Box cover with LED driver attached.
• Replace LED driver with a factory approved LED driver and wire the same as the old LED driver.
• Re-install J-box covers, re-attach the light engine using the springs then push the light engine back in the ceiling.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS:
• Read all the instructions before installation. Save instructions for later use.
