Installing the Media Converter
The AT-MC10x Series media converters can be used on a desktop,
mounted on a wall, or installed in a rack.
Using the Media Converter on a Desktop
To use the media converter on a desktop, perform the following
procedure:
1. Remove all equipment from the package and store the packaging
material in a safe place.
Note
Do not remove the dust cover from the fiber optic port until you are
ready to connect the fiber optic cable. Dust contamination can
adversely impact the operating performance of the port on the
media converter.
2. Place the media converter on a flat, secure surface (such as a desk
or table) leaving ample space around the unit for ventilation.
3. Attach the four protective rubber feet to the bottom of the media
converter, as shown in Figure 11.
Note
Do not attach the protective feet if you are installing it in an
AT-WLMT-010 wallmount bracket, AT-TRAY4 rackmount tray, or
AT-MCR12 chassis.
