Using with a windows computer
Structure of folders and files on the storage media
• The folder and file structure for the storage media is shown
below.
• Do not arbitrarily change or remove the folder or file name. It may
not be playable.
Videos (H.264) ①
• HD-quality videos have an HDV_####.MP4 name format.
• SD-quality videos have an SDV_####.MP4 name format.
• The file number automatically increases when a new video clip file
is created.
• Up to 9,999 files can be stored in one folder. A new folder is
created when the number files in a folder exceeds 9,999.
• The folder names are given in the following order: 100VIDEO,
101VIDEO, etc. The maximum number of folders is 999.
• The camcorder can create a maximum of 9,999 files in a storage
media.
Photos ②
• As with video clip files, the file number automatically increases
when a new image file is created.
• Photo files have a SAM_####.JPG format. A new folder stores
files starting with SAM_0001.JPG.
• Folder names increase in this order: 100PHOTO101PHOTO
etc.
File format
Video files
• Videos are compressed in H.264 format. The file extension is
‘.MP4’.
• Refer to page 53 for video resolution.
Photo files
• Photos are compressed in JPEG (Joint Photographic Experts
Group) format. The file extension is ‘.JPG’.
• Refer to page 54 for photo resolution.
Do not modify the name of a movie file recorded by the camcorder.
For proper playback, the camcorder requires the original folder and file
name.
