4. Install the hard drive.
5. Determine the status of the drive from the hot-plug SAS hard drive LED combinations (" Hot-plug SATA or
SAS hard drive LEDs " on page 8 ).
6. Install the bezel.
7. Resume normal server operations.
SATA optical drive
For clarity, the following illustrations include option cabling only.
CAUTION: To prevent improper cooling and thermal damage, do not operate the server unless
all bays are populated with either a component or a blank.
To install the component:
1. Power down the server (on page 16 ).
2. Remove the bezel (on page 17 ).
3. Remove the access panel (on page 18 ).
4. Remove the applicable media bay blank (" Remove a media bay blank " on page 19 ).
