NOTE:
• The traffic statistics that apply only to the HBAs below Monitor appear in the list.
• The WWN Total traffic statistics are displayed in the list when you select an icon in the lower-
left tree. If you select the Subsystem folder in the lower-left tree, the sum of the traffic of the
HBAs registered in each Performance Control group is displayed. For details on Performance
Control groups, see “

Analyze the information in the list and then determine upper-limit values that should be applied
to non-prioritized WWNs. If necessary, determine threshold values that should be applied to
prioritized WWNs. For details, see “
If Many-to-Many Connections Link HBAs and
Setting Priority for HBAs
If a many-to-many connection is established between HBAs and ports, you need to define the priority
of WWNs, measure traffic between each HBA and the port that the HBA is connected to, and analyze
the traffic.
Specify an HBA existed on a server on which high-priority processing is performed, as a prioritized
WWNs. Specify an HBA on a server on which low-priority processing is performed, as a non-prioritized
WWNs.
To set the priority of HBAs:
1.
Start XP Performance Control (see “
Starting XP Performance Control
The Performance Control window is displayed.

Click the WWN tab (

Select All from the list at the top right corner of the window.
4.
In the upper-left tree, double-click a port.
5.
Double-click Monitor, which is displayed below the specified port.
6.
Check to see that all the WWNs of the HBAs are controlled by using XP Performance Control
which appears below Monitor.
If some of the WWNs are missing, use the procedure in “
Monitoring All Traffic between HBAs

Select Monitor to display the information for the HBAs that are monitored in the list on the right
of the tree.

Right-click an HBA (WWN) in the list and then select Non-Prio -> Prio from the pop-up menu.
The Attribute column of the selected WWN in the list displays Prio. To specify more than one
prioritized WWN, repeat this operation.
NOTE:
You cannot change the priority of a WWN which is contained in a Performance Control group.

Right-click an HBA (WWN) in the list and then select Prio -> Non-Prio from the pop-up menu.
The Attribute column of the selected WWN in the list displays Non-Prio. To specify more than
one non-prioritized WWN, repeat this operation.
