NOTE:
The DON’T ERASE logical drive supports the Quick Restore process
only and does not host the secondary operating system. If you need to
perform a Quick Restore of your server, see the Quick Restore instructions
inside the Quick Restore DVD. Be sure to back up your user data, and
then use the Quick Restore DVD to restore the server to the factory
default state.
External storage drives
The two MSA30 storage enclosures for the DL380 G4 9TB are configured
for hardware RAID fault tolerance using the HP Smart Array 6402 RAID
Controller. The HDDs are hot-pluggable and hot-swappable.
The logical drives are configured as RAID 5 volumes, and partitioned
with four RAID 5 logical partitions. A total of four RAID 5 backup data
partitions, plus one internal, are available for the DPM software.
