Intelligent Provisioning (IP)

Intelligent Provisioning is a single-server deployment tool embedded in HP ProLiant Gen8 servers.
Intelligent Provisioning simplifies HP ProLiant server setup, providing a reliable and consistent way
to deploy HP ProLiant servers. Intelligent Provisioning assists in the OS installation process by
preparing the system for installing "off-the-shelf" and HP-branded versions of leading OS software
and integrating optimized HP ProLiant server support software from the HP Service Pack for ProLiant
(SPP). SPP is a comprehensive system software and a firmware solution for HP ProLiant servers and
server blades and their enclosures.

To install and configure HP WBEM Providers from HP SPP package on
ProLiant servers.

To install the HP SPP package on Proliant servers, follow the steps listed below:
1.

Download the HP SPP package from the web, available at the following location:

http://www.hp.com/go/spp/download

2.

Extract the package to a local folder.

3.

Right-click My Computer > Manage > Configuration > Services and verify whether Remote
Registry

service is running. If the service is not running, start the Remote Registry

service.

4.

Run the HPSUM.exe Windows batch file, which launches the HP SUM web-based User Interface.

5.

After a baseline is added, it lists down all configurable components as shown in the following
figure.

Click Needs configuration. A dialog box appears prompting for Windows User Account
Name, as shown in the following figure
