* Option available only when the optional SM-V1 Surround Microphone is attached to the camcorder

after having updated the camcorder’s firmware using the memory card supplied with the SM-V1.

[Digital Zoom]:

Determines the operation of the digital zoom. The color of the indicator indicates the

zoom.

• With the digital zoom the image is digitally processed, so the image resolution will deteriorate the

more you zoom in.

• Digital zoom is available only for movies.

[Focus Assistance]:

When focus assistance is activated, the image at the center of the screen is

magnified to help you focus manually (A 51).
• Using focus assistance will not affect the recordings. It will be cancelled automatically after

4 seconds or when you start recording.

• Focus assistance is available only for movies.

[Auto Slow Shutter]:

The camcorder automatically uses slow shutter speeds to obtain brighter

recordings in places with insufficient lighting.

• Minimum shutter speed used: 1/25; 1/12 when the frame rate is set to PF25.00 or 25.00P.
• The auto slow shutter can be activated only during

mode, when the recording program is set

to [’ Programmed AE] or during infrared mode.

• If a trailing afterimage appears, set the slow shutter to [j Off].

• If > (camcorder shake warning) appears, we recommend stabilizing the camcorder, for example,

by mounting it on a tripod.
