1. Introduction
The Detcon Model 971-071170-0DL is an 117VAC powered gas detection system that provides a
remote gas sample to an independent sensor assembly with ability to dilute the gas sample with air. The
sensor assembly, discussed in the attached sensor manual, is specified at time of order as to gas and range of
detection and other options. The NEMA 7X rating is by definition explosion proof and therefore is suitable
for outdoor location in electrically hazardous environments.
The enclosure houses a 24 VDC power supply, flow pump and flow fault detection circuit. The
motherboard provides field wiring terminals which, depending on the type of sensor used, include options for:
117 VAC power input, 24 VDC battery backup power input, 4-20 mA signal output, alarm relay dry contacts,
and RS-485 Serial communications. Internal panel mount fuses are provided for VAC and VDC power.
A power switch, power indicator lamp and a flow fault indicator lamp are mounted on the hinged door.
Externally mounted flow controls include a selector valve for sample and calibration, a sample flow meter
with an adjustable valve. This model also provides a flow meter with adjustable valve that provides a
selectable air dilution flow. An externally mounted moisture filter is provided for the gas sample input.
2. Installation
2.1 Mounting
Securely mount the enclosure in accordance with the drawing below Figure 1.
