2 Introduction
2.1 Description
The M390 series are high temperature blackbody calibrators that can produce a very high
temperature, high emissivity targets, and at the same time stabilize at the required temperature
within a few minutes of switch-on. The cavity is a graphite tube target which is available with a
16mm (.625") diameter, or optionally 25mm (1.00") with an effective emissivity of 0.995. Target
is sensed by a rapid response LumaSense infrared fiber optic thermometer which drives a PID
controller to regulate the target temperature precisely to the desired value. The controller is
mounted on the calibration source and remote set point programming may be achieved via the
standard RS232 or optional RS485 communication port..
