It is useful in mild cases of bright/dark mixes.
A TrueWDR IP camera will have better results.
This setting attempts to account for lighting. +NVR
AWB means “Auto White Balance” and typically works well.
DNR reduces random, tiny discoloration to smooth an image. -NVR
This can sometimes help the clarity of a speckled image.
