Safety Guidelines
Failure to read and understand the instructions included in this manual before using or servicing the yard
ramp constitutes misuse and automatically voids the limited warranty. If questions remain after you finish
reading the manual, ask your employer or supervisor for assistance. DO NOT attempt to resolve any problems with
the ramp unless you are authorized to do so and certain that it will be safe to use afterwards.
Electrocution might result if the yard ramp contacts electrified wires. Reduce the likelihood that persons
using the ramp or bystanders might be electrocuted by applying common sense:
DO not use the crane in an area where it will contact electrified wires;
Material handling is dangerous. Improper or careless operation might result in serious personal
injuries sustained by the ramp user(s) and bystanders. Always follow the procedures for loading and unloading
trailers applied at your worksite and apply the following:
Before using the ramp, inspect the usage area for unusual conditions that might require special precautions.
ALWAYS inspect the ramp before each use. Inspect the ramp and remove it from service if any of the following are
noticed:
o
Broken welds, stress cracks, warps or bends, indications of metal fatigue, etc.
o
Severely damaged or deteriorated bumpers;
o
Significant damage to the ramp raising/lowering and dock leveler mechanisms that prevents either
mechanism from operating normally.
DO NOT apply more weight to the ramp than the uniform capacity of your model (see Specifications Table, p. 2-3).
