These operating instructions refer to various
models.
Safety Information
This appliance is designed for the household
or for similar, non-industrial applications.
Non-industrial applications include e.g. use
in employee kitchens in shops, offices, agri-
cultural and other commercial businesses,
as well as use by guests in boarding houses,
small hotels and similar dwellings.

Connect and operate the appliance only
in accordance with the specifications
on the rating plate. Do not use if the cord
or appliance is damaged.
Keep children away from the appliance.
Do not allow persons (also children) with
restricted physical sensory perception or mental
abilities or with lack of experience and know-
ledge to operate the appliance unless they are
supervised or have been instructed in the use
of the appliance by somebody who
is responsible for their safety.
Never leave the appliance unattended while
it is switched on!
Always pull out the mains plug after using
the appliance, before cleaning the appliance,
before leaving the room or if a fault occurs.
To prevent injury, repairs to the appliance, such
as replacing a damaged power cord, should
be carried out by our customer service only.
Important
Use jug only with base which is identified
as
Type WK10.
Heat water only, never soup (leaves greasy taste
and may boil over) or milk (scorches and boils
over). Drinks such as tea or coffee will discolour
the jug.

Before using your appliance for the
first time
To clean the kettle thoroughly, fill with clear
water, bring to the boil and repeat.
The first time you fill the kettle, add
a tablespoon of household vinegar.
Boiling the water
Do not switch an appliance on when empty as it
could be damaged.
Observe the MAX mark!
Close the lid before boiling water, otherwise
the automatic steam stop will not function!

Pull the catch towards the handle, open the
lid and fill the jug (also through the nozzle),
observing the water level indicator.
Fill no higher than MAX. Risk of scalding
from water boiling over.
Close lid again and engage, otherwise
the automatic steam stop will not function.
Place jug on a dry base only.
If the base is wet
– pull out the mains plug;
– dry the base and the area under the base
with an absorbent kitchen cloth;
– re-insert the mains plug.
Press up On/Off switch. The appliance heats
up and the indicator light is lit.
The appliance cannot be switched on unless
the jug is on the base.
The heater is switched off when
–
the water boils;
–
the jug is taken off the base;
–
the appliance is switched on, but there
is no water in the jug.
Cleaning and descaling

Pull out the mains plug.
Descale the kettle with vinegar or a commer-
cially available descaling agent. Do not use
sharp or abrasive detergents.
Rinse out the jug with plain water.
