9. Use lithium grease on the Pump Cylinder Tie Rod (VLS-4623) threads and screw into Outlet
Body if they were removed.
NOTE: The two Pump Cylinder Tie Rods (VLS-4623) must be inserted in opposing holes. The
UPLS versions of the fluid sections have four Tie Rods (VLS-4623).
10. Slide the Cylinder with Foot Valve over the Piston Rod Assembly and start the Hex Nuts (F-
HN-08C) onto the Pump Cylinder Tie Rods (VLS-4623). Tighten uniformly until wrench tight.

Use a 1/4” metal rod, or Phillips screwdriver to tighten the Packing Nut (VLS-4607).
Note: Do not over tighten the Packing Nut as it can bind on the Piston Rod
– only
tighten ¼ - ½ turn past hand tight – enough to prevent the Packing from leaking.
Tight ¼ - ½ turn as needed weekly to prevent material for leaking into the Packing
Nut.
Note: There is no adjustment for the Packing Nut on Magnapak version of the
fluid sections
– the packing nut is snug against the outlet body.
