PRODUCT FEATURES
CONSTRUCTION
The chiller is built on a tubular steel base frame; with a 16 gauge powder coated steel cabinet.
Components are internally mounted on a 16 gauge galvanized steel base. All of the access
panels can be removed without tools. The electrical components are enclosed in a 2 compartment
weather proof enclosure.
REFRIGERATION SYSTEM
Each chiller contains compressor/evaporator modules. Each module has one
hermetically sealed scroll compressor, one brazed plate evaporator (316 SS plates), TEV, filter
drier, and sight glass and liquid/suction heat exchanger. The compressor has suction and
discharge isolation valves for ease of compressor replacement. Each system has a receiver with
isolation valves to allow the entire refrigerant charge to be pumped into the receiver when
removal of the module if needed. Each module is connected to a single, dual circuit condenser.
The condenser utilizes two 1-HP 1725 RPM propellers. The motor operation is controlled by a
microprocessor controller based on head pressure input.
THE REFRIGERATION SYSTEM USES R-22
Each refrigeration system module is independent. One can be removed from the system while the
other is operating. Caution must be taken as high voltage electricity can create personal injury
and lead to death.
CHILLED WATER SYSTEM
The chiller installed with two pumps. These pumps are called redundancy pumps because if
one fails the second pump will be activated automatically. Water connections and controller
enclosures are located in front. All side panels are removable for maintenance.
Inside the chiller is a 200-gallon, double wall insulated reservoir. The inner layer is 304 stainless
steel and the outer layer is armorflex insulation. There is 1” of foam in between the layers. A 1”
overflow (vent), sight glass, and 1” fill fitting is installed on the main access side of the chiller.
There is also a 1” drain. Since the reservoir is vented to atmosphere, a backflow kit is provided
to prevent water from flowing out of overhead pipes and overflowing the reservoir. A water
supply and hose should be plumbed to the chiller for filling.
Each pump has a shut off valve between the tank and pump suction, and a ball valve for each
pump discharge. There are discharge pressure gauges for each pumps. A strainer and cleanout
valve is installed for refrigeration system. A common pressure relief valve is installed for
pressure regulation and it is set at 40psig.
