The sight glass moisture indicator is provided for charging purposes and to detect the presence of
water in the refrigeration system.

Thermostatic Expansion Valve (TEV)

The TEV meters liquid refrigerant into the evaporator. It has a factory set superheat of 10 F and
should not require adjustment. It is an externally equalized valve. In no circumstances should the
equalizer tube me remove or plugged.

Liquid Line Solenoid Valve (LLSV)

The liquid line solenoid valve protects against migration of liquid refrigerant to the compressor.
It is energized whenever the compressor is energized. The low pressure switch time delay allows
for the valve to be open and satisfy the low pressure switch before a low pressure alarm is
generated.

Evaporator

The evaporator is a high efficiency water to refrigerant heat exchanger. It is made of 316
stainless steel plate brazed together with copper. The strainer installed in the pipeline will protect
the evaporator from being plugged.

Compressor

The compressor is a high efficiency compliant scroll compressor. It is hooked to the refrigeration
system with rotor lock valves. The rotor lock valves contain a double seating shut off valve and
an access port. The valve is shipped from the factory in the fully open (back seated) position and
should remain in this position during normal operation. Crankcase heaters are installed on the
compressors and are always energized.

The compressor has a minimum run time, and a minimum off time parameter set in the controller
to prevent short cycling.

Condenser System

The chiller is equipped with two (2) water cooled condensers. Each water cooled condenser
requires minimum 23usgpm water flow at 85

0

F. Connection are located on the back of the

chiller.

Head Pressure Control -

A temperature actuating valve is installed for each water-cooled condenser for head pressure
control. The valves are pre-set by factory.
