Creating a RAID Volume

Select Array Configuration Utility option.

Select Create Array.

The Select drives to create Array displayed.

Select desired hard drive disk and then press to add it in
the Selected Drives area.

Press to complete the selection.

Select Array Type.

Configure the array properties.

Press Done when finish.

Press when "Do you want to create an array? (Yes/No):"
displayed.

Press any key to continue.

10 Once the RAID volume is created, press to exit.

Initialing a RAID Volume

During Adaptec onboard SATA RAID volume creation process, the
onboard SATA RAID volume will be automatically initiated once the
onboard SATA RAID volume has been created.

Assigning a Hot Spare Drive

A hot spare is a hard disk drive that automatically replaces any failed
drive in a RAID volume, and can subsequently be used to rebuild the
RAID volume.

Select Array Configuration Utility option.

Select Add/Delete Hotspare.
The Select drives to assign Spare displayed.

Select desired hard drive disk and then press to add it in
the Assigned Hotspare drives area.

Press to complete the selection.

Press when "Do you want to create a spare? (Yes/No):"
displayed.

Once a hot spare drive is created, press to exit.
