6. Hardware installation

• Verify whether your computer complies with the minimum system requirements. Install

Microsoft DirectX version 9.0 (or higher) before installing the DVR card

• Refer to the user manual of your computer for information on how to open the housing and

where the 32-bit PCI card slots are located. Make sure to switch off the computer and
disconnect it from the mains before opening the housing.

• Insert the DVR card into a free 32-bit PCI slot. Use an antistatic wrist strap.

• Install the cover with the DB25F connector next to the DVR card and connect the connector at

the end of the ribbon cable to the socket on the DVR card. This connector fits only one way,
do not force.

• When using an additional audio input device (not incl.), install it and connect it to the

motherboard when necessary. Refer to the user manual of the audio device.

• Close the housing of the computer.

Do not connect the cameras yet.
