Installation
High-Current Four-Quadrant Supply
Refer to Figure 2-1 on page 14. Ensure the cabling is connected in the
following manner:
Note
The use of locking hardware is recommended for all high-current
connections.
Caution
Do not overtighten the hardware on the interconnections (refer to
specifications table on page 8 for torque limits). Overtightening can
result in damage to the terminals.
Note
The current-direction arrow on the CT must point toward the power
supply end of the cable.
a. Connect appropriate load cable to the Master power supply
COMMON
terminal (6) and route it through the zero flux current
transducer (see note). Connect the other end to the negative
magnet current lead (3).
b. Connect the positive magnet current lead (2) to the Slave power
supply
OUTPUT
terminal (17).
c. Connect the Master power supply
OUTPUT
terminal (1) to the
Slave power supply
COMMON
terminal (18).
d. Connect the CT power supply to the
TRANSDUCER POWER
connector (5) on the rear of the Model 430 Programmer.
e. Connect the current transducer output to the current transducer
SIGNAL
connector (4) on the rear of the Model 430 Programmer.
f. Install the Control Cable (15) and Protective Cable (16) between
the two power supplies
1
and install the Protective Terminators (19)
and (20).
g. Connect the DB15 cable from the
PROGRAM OUT
connector (14) on
the back of the Model 430 Programmer to the
ANALOG I/O
connector (7) on the rear of the Master power supply.
h. Install an instrumentation cable between the magnet support
stand top plate connector (8) and one of the
MAGNET STATION
connectors (11) on the rear of the Model 430 Programmer.
1. Note the "shifted" connections.
