devices in your computer. Check the DMAN 2044 configuration
(address and IRQ) against those of the other devices on your computer.
If necessary, change the settings for the one or more of the devices.
Problem:
Unable to monitor one or more inputs.
Possible Cause 1:
Improper connections to the audio input(s) of the
DMAN 2044 card. Verify that the DMAN 2044 IN(s) are properly con-
nected to an external audio source.
Possible Cause 2:
The monitor volumes are set too low, or are
muted. Check each monitor volume slider in the Windows playback
mixer.
Possible Cause 3:
The inputs are not routed to the expected outputs.
Open the DMAN 2044 Control applet from the Windows Control Panel
and verify that your input monitor assignments are correct.
Problem:
No visual activity on Audio Input volume (VU) meter of
software application.
Possible Cause 1:
Wrong input pair selected for recording.
Possible Cause 2:
IRQ conflict. Investigate and change IRQ setting
of one or more board(s).
Problem:
Recorded waveforms are clipped (or clipping is indicated by
software application VU meters).
Possible Cause 1:
The audio input signal is too hot. If the input sig-
nal-level jumper on the affected channel is not installed (channel is set
for +4 dB operation), then you have no choice but to reduce the volume
of the signal at the external source.
Possible Cause 2:
If the signal-level jumper on the affected channel
is installed (-10 dB operation), then remove the jumper to accommodate
hotter signals (+4 dB operation).
Problem:
Input levels too weak for optimal recording (typically indi-
cated by software VU meters).
Possible Cause 1:
Signal source is too weak. Raise the audio level at
its source.
Possible Cause 2:
If the above suggestion does not raise the VU
level high enough for your satisfaction, install the input signal-level
jumper on each affected channel. This will configure each input for -10
dB operation.
Problem:
Outputs out-of-sync between multiple sound cards.
Possible Cause:
Multiple sound cards are not synchronized through
