Transposition

The Clavinova’s TRANSPOSE function makes it

possible to shift the pitch of the entire keyboard up or
down in semitone intervals up to a maximum of six
semitones. “Transposing” the pitch of the Clavinova
keyboard makes it easier to play in difficult key signa-
tures, and you can simply match the pitch of the key-
board to the range of a singer or other instrumentalist.

● Use the TEMPO [] and [] buttons to select the desired

degree of transposition while holding the [MIDI/TRANS-
POSE]
button.
The amount of transposition selected is shown on the
TEMPO display as follows:

] buttons simultaneously while holding the [MIDI/

TRANSPOSE] button to restore normal keyboard pitch.

• Transpose is always set to Normal when the power is turned on.

• The TRANSPOSE function does not affect the DRUMS sound.

• Hold either the TEMPO [

] or [

] button for continuous scrolling in the

specified direction.

• Notes below and above the A-1 — C7 of the Clavinova sound one

octave higher and lower, respectively.
