About the Firmware
Firmware is a small piece of software built into the CRW8824IX drive, and is
used to control the drive’s basic operations. Since it resides in flash memory, it
can be overwritten and updated.
To ensure more reliable operations and enhanced performance of the drive,
updates to the firmware will be made available. You can find information about
the most recent firmware for the drive on YAMAHA CD-R/RW Drives web site.

Verifying the Firmware Version of the CRW8824IX Drive
Windows Users
From the [Start] menu, select [Settings]-[Control Panels] and open the [System]
control panel. In the [System Properties] window, select the [Device Manager]
tab. Double-click on [YAMAHA CRW8824E] and open its Properties window.
The firmware
revision indicated
here varies
depending on the
software version of
the drive.

writing software to check it.

Use your CD writing software to check the firmware version of your CRW8824IX
