9. Place the CD-ROM drive box on top of the CD-R or CD-RW drive box.
10. Slide the holding brackets (centering one on each side) to hold the two boxes
together as a unit.
2-1.3 Install the SmartDup
1. Attach the SmartDup dock to the back of the assembled CD-ROM box
enclosures.
a. Make sure the CD-ROM drive is positioned on top of the CD-R or
CD-RW drive, secured by the holder brackets.
b. Align the two interface connectors on the SmartDup dock with the
connectors on the back of the CD-ROM/RW drives and press into place.
2. Assemble the AC power adapter by connecting the round-pronged end of the
power cord into the connector on the power adapter.
3. Plug the 6-pin DIN connector end of the AC power adapter cable into the
DC IN connector on the SmartDup dock.
4. Optional: If you plan to use the SmartDup with your computer using the USB
PC interface cable:
a. Connect the USB-to-IDE connector into the PC Interface connector on
the SmartDup dock.
b. Connect the USB connector into an available USB port on your computer.
Note: this option features hot-swappable, plug-n-play operation. It can be
connected at any time.
5. Verify all your connections, then plug the AC power adapter cord to an AC
power outlet.
