Operation
Power key and childproof lock
The power key turns on the electronics for the touch key panel. Your cooktop is now
ready to use.
Touch the Ý symbol until the
l
indicator and the
- element indicators light up.
Touch the Ý symbol until the - element indicators go out. This turns off all the
elements. The hot surface indicator stays on until the elements have cooled
sufficiently.
The cooktop turns off automatically once all the elements have been off for more
than 10 seconds.
If the surfaces are still hot when the cooktop is turned back on, H/h and
- alternate
in the element indicator display.
The cooktop can be protected against being accidentally turned on to ensure that
children do not switch on the elements. The childproof lock remains activated
permanently.
Connect the element with the power key Ý.

Turn the elements to heat setting 2.

Turn off the elements from right to left, starting with the lower right element.

Touch the power key Ý for a minimum of 5 seconds; once the 5 seconds is up
you will hear an acoustic signal.
The childproof lock is now activated.
To turn it on, touch the power key Ý for at least 4 seconds. The display Y will flicker
during this time. When this indication switches off, the cooktop is connected.
The childproof lock can be deactivated again. To do this, you just have to repeat the
procedure for activating it.
You can lock the cooktop on a single occasion, if for example, small children are
visiting:
The cooktop must be switched off.
Touch the Ü key for more than 4 seconds.
The Y indicator lights up for 10 seconds and goes out. The cooktop is locked.
Touch the Ü key for more than 4 seconds. The cooktop is unlocked.
The childĆproof lock could be activated or deactivated unintentionally when the
appliance is cleaned using water or as a result of spills or objects covering the
Ü key.
