Before starting

Confirm that the power of the camera is off. Removing the battery with the power on
could cause malfunction and/or damage the saved image data.

Open the battery/SD card cover.

Slide the battery/SD cover in the arrow direction 1,
then open it 2.

Insert the battery in the correct orientation shown.

Tilt the battery lock lever toward the touch panel and
then insert the battery with care that the orientation of
the arrow on the battery’s label matches the arrow on
the camera.

You should insert the battery as far as they go.

Close the battery/SD card cover.

Close the battery/SD card cover 1, then slide it in
the arrow direction 2.

Make sure that the cover is firmly closed.

To remove the battery

Open the battery/SD card cover and then release the battery lock lever. After the
battery is slightly ejected, pull out the battery slowly.

Loading and Unloading the Battery

This camera must be used with dedicated rechargeable lithium-ion battery (PDR-BT3).
This battery is merely called battery in this Instruction Manual. You cannot use other types
of battery. Charge the battery before using the camera.
