Troubleshooting

—Continued

Can’t play back a disc that contains MP3/WMA/JPEG files

• Make sure that the recorded disc is ISO 9660 compliant. (page 76)
• Make sure that the disc containing the files has been finalized.

Can’t select a track (file) recorded on the disc

• Files will not be recognized if they have a non-standard filename extension. Change the filename exten-

sion. (page 76)

• The DV-S155X cannot recognize more than 999 folders or 671 tracks. (page 76)
• The DV-S155X does not support multi-session discs. Only the first session of a multi-session disc will be

played. (page 76)

The remote control doesn’t work

• Are the batteries inserted with the correct polarity (+, –) as indicated? (page 12)
• Try replacing both batteries with fresh batteries. (Avoid mixing batteries of differing types, or old and

new batteries.)

• Could the remote control be too far from the DV-S155X?
• Is there an obstruction between the remote control and the DV-S155X?
• Is strong light (fluorescent light or direct sunlight) shining on the DV-S155X’s remote control optical

sensor?

• If the door of your audio rack is made of colored glass, the remote control may not operate correctly.

System functions don’t work with other connected Onkyo products

• Make sure that both the

cable and the audio connection cable are connected correctly. The system

will not work if only the

cable is connected. (page 18)

Your settings have disappeared

• Your settings will be lost if there is a power failure or the power cord is disconnected while the player is

powered-on.

Can’t change the settings

• Some settings can’t be changed during playback. In this case, stop playback before you change the set-

tings.

Sound is output in monaural

• While playing a video CD, the output will be monaural if you pressed the remote control’s AUDIO but-

ton to select Mono L or Mono R. To return to stereo, press the remote control’s AUDIO button once
again to select stereo. (page 27)

* The status of this setting is shown in the video output, so you’ll need to connect a television to check

the current status.
