Note: . The prefix “n” on the signal name refers to low active signals.
If the host does not have any one of the signal lines listed above, two-way com-
munication fails.
. For interfacing, signal lines should always use twisted pair cables with the return
sides connected to the signal ground level.
. Cautions when resetting the printer using the nInit signal (# pin).
Reset can be made from # pin (nInit signal) of the interface by memory switch
setting. (Factory setting is reset.)
In addition, when reset has been enabled by # pin (nInit signal), it can be set to
reset when the following conditions have been established: memory switch set-
tings for 6-D and 6-E have been changed, #6 pin (nSelectIn/4 active signal)
is low, and # pin (nInit signal) is low.
For instructions on setting the memory switch, please refer to the separate Speci-
fication Manual.
4. During factory output, IFEE 4 printer device ID reply will be “Invalid.” To get
the device ID, change memory switch 6-C to “Valid.” For instructions on setting
the memory switch, please refer to the separate Specification Manual.
